Disappointment
So I'm sitting here reading news online and I come upon a link to an article about President Bush talking to the Palestinians. Here is the quote:"President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it."
At first glance of this, I was thinking "hmm... liberals sure aren't going to like this at all" and went along with reading. Then I got to the part of "get peace in the Middle East. And by God I'm gonna do it." Whoa whoa whoa. Most Christians understand that there will NEVER be peace in the Middle East, at least until the end. So now I am really confused about him. Plus, the fact that he says all of this as if it is all because of him. He didn't accomplish any of this single handedly. Maybe this is out of context... I'm not sure. But I am baffled that a professing Christian would say that he was going to make peace in the Middle East. That just blows my mind.
