Move - Part 1
SOOOO glad this is over. The past several days have been completely crazy. About half of my stuff is currently in a big 6x7x8 aluminum box being shipped to Kentucky. And it's wet because of the storms that conveniently decided to come through about an hour before I started moving things and stopped minutes after I was finished. There was a lot more room in the container than I thought, which is unfortunate because the remainder of my stuff is still at the Norman apartment. As much as possible will be coming with me and the rest will be an excuse to come back to Norman in a few weeks.
I am driving out to Bowling Green tomorrow morning, hoping to get there at a decent time. I have no idea if my stuff will be ready to move on Friday like I planned. Otherwise, I'll be sleeping in my sleeping bag on the floor for a few days. FUN!
Kentucky
I finally have everything set up for my move to Bowling Green. I have my new address and have the rental truck reserved. Luckily, the apartment complex said I was able to move in a few days earlier than expected, so that was a great surprise. If anyone reading this wants to help me move, I definitely wouldn't be against it. ;-) Just let me know.
My last day at OCS is May 30th. It's hard to believe that it's finally coming to an end after being here for 4+ years. Now it's time to move on to the next Mesonet for another 4+ years. I start there on June 4th. Hopefully everything goes smoothly!
Meso
I've decided that I really hate overnight storms. I've hardly been able to sleep over the past few days because of them. I thought after the week of hell (last week) was over, I'd be able to actually sleep. Guess not.
My mesoscale exam is tomorrow, so I've been studying for that. Here is a quote from the notes:
"To be more precise, a convective cloud is one which owes its vertical development, and possibly its origin, to convection."
*sigh*...
Fortunes
Here is my series of fortunes from Pei Wei last night:
- "Patience is a key to joy."
- "There is never any harm in asking an honest question."
- "An unexpected relationship will become permanent."
- "To love and win is the best thing; to love and lose the next best."
Quite ironic..
Life is a Pen
You either run out of ink or you get clogged up and dried out and stop working. Some will sit around unused, some will be refilled and given a second chance, while most will pass away into the eternal pit of the trashcan.
Poetry
I've decided I'm going to start posting some random poetry I wrote.
This is something I just now wrote to help quantify what is going through my head:
-----
When life seems easy,
our days fly away
like they were never ours.
When we come to see
what there is to have
within those days
we shove them away.
These days we possess
are what keep us alive,
but what can one do
when all there is to strive
for is the daybreak?
Days can be ascribed
many meanings in our lives,
but what good are they
if you must be astray?
Away from those that cause you pain,
away from those that cause you gain,
but even when you are afar,
there will still be someone close
whom you will never want to claim.
These days will soon end
and those who are be called 'friend'
or 'enemy' or 'lover' will merge into one.
...It is done.
