Der König Der Löwen
I've decided my next fun goal is to memorize "The Lion King" in German. I already know it line by line in English, so it's time to mix it up some. :-)BGWCS
Tonight was the first night of the Bowling Green Western Choral Society (very long name!!) practices. I was kind of nervous about auditioning because I hadn't practiced singing for a while, but it turned out well. This semester, we are doing a mass by Beethoven and 'A Christmas Garland'. It was really fun. The director is great and entertaining. I'm definitely glad I decided to do it. I hope I will meet new people there too. There are two performances this semester: November 5th and December 6th, so come see me if you can make it!Wednesday, August 22, 2007
Safety first!
ALWAYS, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR GOGGLES WHEN PLAYING RACQUETBALL!!!I got slammed in the face today with a racquetball straight off my opponent's racket. The ball hit right where my eyeball was and shoved the goggles sideways into my nose. I knew it hurt, but was just going to shake it off and continue. Then I saw the blood. So I proceeded back across the gym to the locker room to try and clean up. Definitely an interesting experience. After cleaning up and shaking off what happened, I went back to the guys and decided it was time to finish playing. :-) If getting hit in the nose wasn't enough, I gave myself a pretty good whelp on the elbow with my racket, but that is fairly common.
I still don't technically know if my nose is broken or not (likely not), but it still hurts. It's not excruciating pain, so I think I'm alright. But thank goodness I had my goggles on, otherwise I might not have an eyeball!
Pictures to follow later, if things look a lot worse in the morning.

Winter Weather Precautions
I'm not an expert on winter weather, but I find this to be quite entertaining (emphasis mine):http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lmk/winter_wx/winpns1.php
-------------------------------------------
Sleet is sometimes incorrectly referred to as an ice storm. Sleet is frozen rain drops, ice pellets, which bounce when hitting the ground. Sleet does not stick to trees, but a sufficient depth can cause hazardous driving conditions.

.
During winter weather conditions, remember the following:
* Avoid all unnecessary travel.
* Plan all trips in advance, giving someone else the route.
* Allow plenty of extra travel time.
* Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing in several layers.
* Cover your head, hands and face.
* Do not kill yourself shoveling snow
* Remember to also protect animals with shelter, water and food.

Kentucky State Fair
The Kentucky State Fair starts this Thursday and lasts until my birthday. I'm absolutely dying to go to a few of these concerts. And they are free with admission!! Actually, the one I am most interested in is the Def Leppard/Styx/Foreigner concert on my bday, but it's a paid admission concert, whereas the Alice Cooper concert this Thursday is free.Anyone interested?? Or even just interested in going at all?

I hate dating
I'm trying to figure out which of these is worse:1) Dating a really good friend that doesn't exactly know what he wants, which in turn leaves you in emotional limbo, but hangs out with you and takes you out on dates,
or
2) Dating a guy that you're getting to know and who knows what he wants, but isn't sure enough to be serious with you, which in turn also leaves you in emotional limbo, and is extremely sporadic with time spent with you and never have actually gone on a date.
Perhaps both are equally unpleasant...
Update: I've decided the latter is much worse. At least the first one was respectful and is still a good friend. The latter is a man who can't seem to think of anyone but himself - the exact kind of guy I can't stand. Live and learn, I suppose.
