Shoo storm, don't bother me
I have this mixed curse/blessing that whenever I am sleeping, I will wake up if thunder can be heard and typically even if it's just a light rain (though the thunder normally comes first.) This morning, faint thunder from a storm at sunrise (~5:15am) woke me up when it was 15 miles away. It wasn't even a 'real' storm... just another Kentucky crap storm. Of course, this is after a night of not getting to sleep until something like 2:30am, so I was not too happy about being woken up for something sooo not worth it. When I finally figured out what had woken me up, I noticed an eerie red glow coming in my windows. I HAD to go check this out. The sunrise mixed with the thunderstorm created super red stratus clouds. It was VERY awesome looking. Unfortunately, my brain was still in a "why the heck did this have to happen now" and "I'm tired" modes (not to mention I wasn't exactly dressed to go outside...) instead of "OOOOO pretty!" mode. After a little bit of realizing, 'DUH, go take a picture you idiot!', this was my result (out the back door, looking east-ish):Just imagine it like 100x more red...
