"New" Sins
This article briefly lists the "new" seven deadly sins as prescribed by the Vatican as "genetic modification, carrying out experiments on humans, polluting the environment, causing social injustice, causing poverty, becoming obscenely wealthy and taking drugs." It seems that many people are throwing fits about this. WHY? Even people that think these things are wrong seem to be throwing fits. Again.. WHY?? It all comes down to the first and second most important commandments (love thy God and love thy neighbor).I think it is great that the Vatican released this (the actual official list I have yet to find.) It is good to have sin brought to our attention. As society changes, opportunities to sin morph. Sin is sneaky... There are always new temptations out there to deal with.
And for those of you out there that are not religious: why do you care what the Vatican says? Why do you care what the bible says? Is it offensive to you? Does it affect your life? Please... explain to me why you care about those things if you don't really care!
